About CompactLiving · PrefabEU OÜ

From Estonia — Europe's wooden-house heartland.

We build compact homes the way furniture is built: indoors, to the millimetre, finished before they ship. Two decades of timber-frame practice in a country that has quietly become the engine room of Europe's wooden-house industry.

The heritage

Roughly every fourth wooden house exported from the EU is Estonian.

It isn't a slogan — it's an industry. A small country with deep forests and a furniture-grade carpentry culture turned timber homes into a serious export. CompactLiving is one workshop inside that heartland, applying the same discipline to a smaller, smarter footprint.

Inside the factory

Precision is a building, not a promise.

Our homes take shape in a controlled hall, not on an exposed plot. Timber is CNC-cut to the drawing, frames are squared on jigs, and the fit-out happens before the weather ever touches it.

That's the quiet advantage of factory-built: a tolerance measured in millimetres, a moisture-controlled environment, and the same crew repeating a proven sequence — so the home that arrives on your plot is the home we drew. Behind our own hall stands a network of partner factories across Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, with our teams running every project. The full manufacturing story lives with our production division — step inside the factory at PrefabEU →

The story so far

Building since 2004.

  1. 2004 Founded PrefabEU OÜ starts building timber-frame homes in Estonia — the heart of Europe's wooden-house industry.
  2. 2010s Export footprint Finished homes leave the factory for the Nordics, the Netherlands and the wider EU, craned onto prepared plots.
  3. Today Dozens of homes a year A right-sized factory turning out a measured run of homes annually — built to a standard, not a quota.

Our founder has led the company since 2004 — the same hands on the business since day one. Continuity, not churn: it's why the standard hasn't drifted.

The people

A workshop, not a warehouse.

Carpenters, engineers and a small office — the people who price your home are the people who build it.

Why factory-built

The case for building indoors.

01

Built indoors, to the millimetre

Every home is assembled in a controlled hall on CNC-cut timber — no weather, no improvisation. What we draw is what gets built.

02

Engineered for four seasons

Wall build-ups and glazing are specified for northern winters first, so the same home stays comfortable wherever it lands.

03

Finished before it ships

Kitchens, bathrooms and surfaces are completed at the factory. The plot work is short, and the mess never reaches your site.

04

One team, end to end

The people who price your home are the people who build it. Fewer hand-offs, fewer surprises, one accountable line.

See it for yourself

Proof beats prose.

Look at homes we've delivered and craned into place across the EU — or send us your plot and we'll tell you what's possible on it.
